This is an important post because it concerns two large fashion companies and how they have blatantly copied the beautiful, original designs of two independent companies and how very wrong and infuriating this is.
I mentioned in a post yesterday the beautiful creations of Made by White and how one of their gorgeous brooches had been copied by Topshop. I decided I would give Topshop the benefit of the doubt and just be very careful when making any purchases from them in the future. However, a second incident of copying has occured; not by Topshop but by another company; which has made me decide that actually I will not give such companies the privilege of my forgiveness.
ASOS today released a Russian Doll ring that was a very obvious (but very hideous!) copy of a design by one of my most favourite shops, Lady Luck Rules OK. I noticed it as soon as I saw it and immediately emailed LLROK to tell them. They have since contacted ASOS and the ring has now mysteriously disappeared from the site but luckily LLROK managed to get a screenshot of it which you can see at their blog.
This post is a call for everyone to boycott these copycat stores and show them that originality is always best. I will no longer be posting items from Topshop or ASOS here (which is quite a big thing for me as I do shop at them quite often). Perhaps in the future if they make significant apologies to LLROK and Made by White and stop copying other people’s work I may reconsider but until then, their products will not be featured here.
If you would like to order one of LLROK’s original, handmade Russian Doll necklaces or brooches, you can do so at their website; but make sure you are quick as they are stopping their personalised jewellery collection soon and once they are gone, thats it! If you don’t fancy a Russian Doll, they have other designs to choose from including a super cute Rock ‘n’ Roll Kitty (seen below with the Russian Doll necklace).

I think this is absolutely digusting, ASOS are major anyways why on earth would they want to rip off an independant boutique who have worked HARD to get to where they are and do everything themselves.
I do design and I look at others work for inspiration not to COMPLETELY rip them off.
I feel bit sorry for LLROK but at least you’ve sussed them out now and from what I understand on twitter it’s all gone now…Outrage. If it was the other way round god knows what would of happened.
Well done for pointing that out.
XOXO
