Nasty Nip! (and some shoes)

Oh my god the title of this post is really quite distasteful but I’m afraid it had to be done. Read on for an explanation…

I was looking on ASOS earlier and these caught my eye. Basically, they are stickers that you stick over your nipples so that they don’t show through your bra/clothes :) Guys won’t understand the annoyingness of such a thing happening but it is very annoying and difficult to avoid unless you always wear padded bras. I don’t always wear padded bras because, *ahem*, I am quite well endowed in the chest area and padded bras make them look even bigger which I hate, so these stickers sound like a damn good idea to me. The post title is stolen from a rather cool website I used to visit (which is now sadly closed) and seemed very appropriate, if a little distasteful as mentioned before. There are four different designs to choose from; hearts, two different star patterns, and butterflies (which I would deffinately not use as I have a phobia of them) and are £12 (a little pricey) for a pack of two. The hearts are pictured below:

I also wanted to mention today, my second top tip. Something I always do when looking for shoes (and when I am not really supposed to be but do anyway) is check out the kids section in whatever shop I am in if they have one. I take a size 6 (Euro 39) and most kids ranges go up to a 6, plus they are cheaper and quite often cuter than those offered in adult sections. I come armed with what I think is a great example. The little beauties below are available from George at Asda for a mere £8 (£7.50 for smaller sizes). They may look a little garish in the photo but they look way better in real life and are very comfy. However, bizarrely their kids shoes do come up big sometimes so you may want to try a smaller size. I don’t own this pair (yet!) but I did get a rather fabulous pair of glittery animal print hi-tops with pink edging from them a few weeks ago in the sale for £3 so you must ALWAYS check the kids sections. I even got a very nice pair of brown boots in the boys section in the M&S sale a couple of weeks ago for £8 and they are lovely (my mum hates them though). You can buy the shoes below in store or online.

Topman for Women

Ok so this is the first post of Lucy Loves? Don’t expect anything too amazing as it will probably be like most things in that my first few will be pretty uninspiring but once I get going hopefully I’ll get the hang of it a bit more and things will improve. I’m feeling a bit crap following a traumatic trip to the dentist yesterday so I am not going to be taking any photos of me in oddly-put-together outfits today as I am in my pyjamas and intend to be all day (although they are pretty lovely heart print fleece pyjamas from Primark).

So, I am going to start by sharing with you some great things I found on the Topman website. Yes. Topman. I am a girl but I always check their site because they always have some pretty cool accessories and jumpers for guys that if bought in the right size will be just fine for women too (my first top tip!).

In terms of accessories on there I really like the articulated skeleton pendant and the wolf pendant; however the item I am most jealous of is this soft fabric friendship band:

I say jealous because I attempted to make one myself a few days ago and at the time I thought it had turned out pretty well but seeing this just really highlights how much it is not. Ho hum. I can try again in a few days I guess (but may just have to get the beautiful Topman one just in case I am unsuccessful). The other thing I found on the Topman site is this amazing green mouse golf sweatshirt.

I have a bit of a thing for mice (have 2 as pets) and even more of a thing for rats (have 3 as pets) and personally I think the critters on this sweat look more like rats; plus, they are playing golf and I am also a bit of a geek and quite like golf so the combination of the two is brilliant to me. In fact, I am about to go and hunt out a tape measure so I can work out which size would be best for me to get. I am not overly keen on baggy jumpers. I prefer them to look a bit shrunken so I need to get it right as can’t be bothered to order 2 sizes and have to return one.
